Which MOAI Paddle Board Is Right For You?
Choosing between MOAI paddleboards is less about finding the “best” board and more about choosing the shape that suits the way you expect to paddle.
If you are completely new to paddleboarding and mainly want something stable and easy-going for relaxed days on the water, a traditional all-round board will usually make the most sense. If you are already reasonably confident, or you know that you are likely to progress quickly, MOAI also offers a useful middle ground between a conventional beginner board and a full touring SUP.
That is where boards such as the MOAI 11′ All-Round become particularly interesting. It is still an all-round board, so you retain the versatility and approachable feel that makes this style so popular, but its extra length and slimmer shape give it a little more glide and efficiency than a typical 10’6. For a confident beginner or improving paddler, that can mean choosing a board you are less likely to feel you have outgrown after your first season.
If longer journeys and covering distance are already becoming the priority, then a dedicated touring board is the more natural step. The longer, more streamlined shape is designed to track straighter and carry speed more efficiently, particularly once you start spending several hours rather than several minutes on the water.

MOAI 11′ All-Round
Best for confident beginners and progressing paddlers
This is the model we would look at if you like the versatility of an all-round board but want a little more performance built in from the start.
The 11′ is slightly longer and slimmer than the 10’6, helping it glide more efficiently and cover distance more easily while still retaining good stability. MOAI itself describes it as suitable for enthusiastic beginners as well as more experienced paddlers.
For us, that makes it a particularly interesting progressive all-rounder: approachable enough for someone with reasonable confidence, but capable enough that you are unlikely to feel the need to replace it as soon as your paddling improves.
MOAI Touring
Best for longer-distance paddling and exploring
If you already know that your idea of a good paddle involves heading somewhere rather than simply staying close to the launch point, a touring board starts to make more sense.
MOAI’s touring boards use longer, more streamlined shapes intended to improve glide and efficiency over distance. They are still designed to remain accessible. MOAI describes its touring range as suitable for sporty beginners as well as advanced paddlers but their priorities move away from maximum manoeuvrability and towards tracking and covering ground.
MOAI Kids
Best for younger paddlers
Children generally have a much better experience learning on equipment that is actually designed around their size.
A smaller MOAI Kids board is easier to carry, turn and control than a full-sized adult SUP, giving younger paddlers the opportunity to develop their own balance and paddling skills rather than simply being passengers on somebody else’s board.
