Waterproof vs Water Resistant – Know the Difference
Waterproof isn’t the same as Water-Resistant
You’ll often see portable Bluetooth speakers described as waterproof, water-resistant or splashproof, but they don’t necessarily mean the same thing.
Water-resistant speakers are generally designed to cope with light rain or occasional splashes. Waterproof speakers with an appropriate IP rating can offer significantly greater protection around water.
If you’re choosing a speaker for paddle boarding, kayaking or other watersports, always check the manufacturer’s individual waterproof rating and usage guidance rather than relying on the word “waterproof” alone.
