The Outdoor Master Shark 2S rechargeable electric SUP pump is the one we choose when we need longer between charges. Its built-in 88.8Wh battery lets you inflate beside the water without needing your board within reach of a car socket. Set your chosen pressure, start the pump and let it get on with inflation while you prepare the rest of your kit.
We’ve used the Shark 2S on our own paddles and camping trips. It takes longer to inflate our touring boards than the Shark 3, but we’ve found the extra battery endurance useful when we’re away for a few days without somewhere to recharge.
These are results from using the pump with our own boards and chargers. Board volume, target pressure and operating conditions affect inflation time and battery endurance.
| Test | Our Shark 2S results |
|---|---|
| Touring board inflation | 9 minutes 48 seconds to inflate our 11’6” touring paddle board to 18 PSI. |
| Larger board inflation | Just over 12 minutes to inflate our 360-litre Jobe Loa to 16 PSI. |
| Battery endurance at 18 PSI | On trips, we’ve been able to inflate both our Jobe Duna Elite paddle boards to 18 PSI twice on one full battery charge. |
| 45W USB-C charging | Just over two hours for a full charge using a suitable 45W USB-C charger. Mains charger not included. |
| 35W USB-C charging | Just over three hours for a full charge using a suitable 35W USB-C charger. |
| Standard USB charging | Just over seven hours using our standard USB power supply. Charging times depend on the power supply and cable used. |

The Shark 2S has a larger battery capacity than the Shark 3: 88.8Wh compared with 74Wh. In our use, that has meant more board inflations between charges, which makes a difference when we’re camping and paddling over several days.
There is a trade-off in inflation speed. For a straightforward day’s paddle, we tend to favour the quicker Shark 3. When we know we’ll struggle to recharge before our next outing, the Shark 2S earns its place in the car. The number of boards you can inflate will depend on their size and pressure, so allow some spare capacity when planning your trip.
The Shark 2S uses dual-stage inflation, first filling your board with air and then building pressure. Select the pressure recommended for your board, up to the pump’s maximum of 20 PSI, and it stops automatically when that pressure is reached.
SUP, KITE and MAT modes cover different inflation tasks, and the memory function saves your last pressure settings. Automatic pressure shut-off applies in SUP and KITE modes. MAT mode uses a timed setting rather than a target pressure.
You can recharge the Shark 2S through its USB-C connection or the supplied 12V vehicle lead. A suitable 45W USB-C charger gave us a full charge in just over two hours; lower-powered supplies take longer. A mains charger is not included.
The pump can also inflate from a compatible 12V vehicle socket when you’re within reach of the car. USB-C is the charging connection, rather than an alternative power supply for inflation. Its USB output also lets you use the battery to top up a phone when needed.
The built-in handle makes the Shark 2S straightforward to carry from the car to your launch spot. It is still another piece of kit to take with you, and there is no built-in hose storage, so think about how you’ll pack the pump and accessories.
Eight supplied nozzle attachments cover a range of compatible paddle boards and other inflatables. Check the valve connection and recommended pressure before use. If you’re unsure about your board, tell us its make and model and we’ll help you check.
After paddling, the deflation function removes remaining air to help you roll and pack your board. You need to stop the pump yourself when deflating.
A mains charger and carry bag are not included.
Battery endurance is its strongest point for us. We’re happy to accept the longer inflation time when it means getting another paddle in without having to find somewhere to charge. It isn’t silent, and the display can be difficult to read in bright sunlight, but those are practical compromises we’ve been comfortable with on our trips.
If quicker inflation matters more, consider the Outdoor Master Shark 3. For a more compact setup, take a look at the Vortex Pro. Our Outdoor Master pump guide explains how we choose between them for our own paddles.

Only used once, works well, inflated 3 paddle boards with 1/4 battery showing.
Would be even better if it came with a carry/storage bag.
Thank you for the great review 😊
It is a great pump with a good battery capacity!
We completely agree a carry/storage bag would be a great addition too, and we’ll definitely pass that feedback on to OutdoorMaster.
