The Outdoor Master Shark 3 Rechargeable Electric SUP Pump takes the effort out of inflating your paddle board, with a built-in 74Wh battery that lets you set up away from your car. It inflates up to 20 PSI, stops automatically at your chosen pressure and includes a deflation function to help you pack your board away afterwards. You can also power it from a compatible 12V vehicle socket when you need an alternative to the battery.
We’ve used the Shark 3 regularly with our own boards, and the inflation speed is what we appreciate most. In our testing, it inflated an 11’6” touring board to 18 PSI in 5 minutes and 18 seconds. For paddlers setting up two or three boards, or launching somewhere beyond the reach of a car powered pump, it’s a useful addition to your kit.
We’ve used the Shark 3 regularly with our own paddle boards now for the last couple of years. Here’s what we’ve found when inflating, charging and using the pump, to give you a realistic idea of what to expect.
| Test | Our Shark 3 results |
|---|---|
| Inflation time | 5 minutes 18 seconds to inflate an 11’6” touring paddle board to 18 PSI. |
| Battery endurance at 15 PSI | Three complete standard paddle board inflations on one full battery charge. |
| Battery endurance at 20 PSI | Two complete 11’6” touring paddle board inflations on one full battery charge, with some charge remaining. |
| Fast charging | Around two hours to recharge a depleted battery using a suitable USB-C fast charger. Mains charger sold separately. |
| Standard USB charging | Approximately five to eight hours, depending on the USB power supply used. |
| First-stage noise | Approximately 76 dB, measured at one metre during the initial high-volume inflation stage. |
| Second-stage noise | Approximately 84 dB, measured at one metre during the high-pressure inflation stage. |
These figures reflect our own experience with the pump. Inflation times and the number of boards per charge depend on board volume, target pressure and operating conditions. Charging times also depend on the charger and cable used. For more detail, read our full Outdoor Master Shark 3 review.
The internal battery gives you more choice over where you inflate your board. You can carry the pump down to your launch spot and get everything ready there, instead of inflating beside the car and carrying a fully inflated board to the water.
In our tests, a full charge inflated three standard paddle boards to 15 PSI. With our higher-pressure 11’6” touring boards, we managed two complete inflations to 20 PSI, with some battery remaining. The number of boards you can inflate depends on their volume and target pressure, so it’s worth allowing a margin rather than relying on a fixed board count.
The Shark 3 uses automatic dual-stage inflation, moving from filling the board with air to building pressure as inflation progresses. Select the pressure recommended for your board on the digital display, start the pump and it will stop when that pressure is reached.
Its active cooling system helps manage heat during repeated inflations. We find it particularly handy when getting several boards ready, although you should still follow the operating limits in the supplied instructions and allow the pump to cool when needed.
With SUP, MAT and KITE modes and eight nozzle attachments, the Shark 3 can handle a range of compatible inflatables. Check the valve connection and recommended pressure for each item before use, as the supplied adapters won’t necessarily fit every inflatable.
Once you’re finished paddling, the deflation function removes the remaining air to make rolling and packing your board easier. Automatic shut-off applies to inflation at your selected pressure; keep an eye on the pump when using the deflation function.
Using a suitable 45W fast charger, we found that a depleted battery took just over two hours to recharge. Lower-powered charging sources take longer, allow around five to eight hours, depending on the power supply. A 45W mains charger is not included and must be purchased separately if you want to use fast charging.
The carry handle makes the pump straightforward to move between your car and launch spot. It is still another piece of equipment to carry, though, so consider the length of your walk alongside the convenience of cordless inflation.
A mains charger and storage case are not included. For faster charging, you’ll need a suitable USB-C mains charger that supports the pump’s 45W fast-charging requirements.
For us, the main benefits are quick inflation and the freedom to set up where we want to paddle. It’s particularly useful for couples and small groups, provided you account for the size and pressure of the boards you’re inflating.
It isn’t silent. We measured approximately 84 dB at one metre, so we’re mindful of other people when using it for an early morning paddle. You can read more about our experience, measurements and practical observations in our Outdoor Master Shark 3 review.
In our tests the Shark 3 will fully inflate 3 standard 10’6 paddle boards to 15 PSI on a single charge.
This is dependent on the volume capacity, size of the board and your final target pressures.
For higher pressure SUPs such as our 11’6” touring boards we can fully inflate 2 boards to 20 PSI on a single charge with enough battery left to partially inflate a third board to 40%.
The shark 3 takes just over 2 hours to fully charge from a depleted battery using a 45W fast charger. Please note this is not included and is sold separately.
Using a standard USB-C power source will take 5-8 hours and is dependant on the output power of your charge supply. Using a car auxiliary socket will take approximately the same 5-8 hours to fully charge.
In our tests we measured approximately 84 dB during the high pressure phase at one meter. The Shark 3 is quieter than many other pumps on the market but they are still noisy and consideration is needed when using them especially on early morning paddles.
Yes, the Outdoor Master Shark 3 2025 model has been upgraded with improved features. It has faster inflation times, quieter dual stage average noise level, extra nozzle for Kite and now supports Tesla & EV car charging with an enhanced battery stability and durability.
The Shark 3 comes with eight nozzle attachments for a range of compatible paddle boards, kayaks, kites and air mattresses. Compatibility depends on the valve fitted to your inflatable, so check the connection and its recommended pressure before use. If you’re unsure, send us the make and model, along with a photo of the valve, and we’ll help you check.
The Shark 3 will inflate up to 20 PSI.
The Shark 3 is certainly the quickest SUP Pump we have ever used and tested so far. It will fully inflate one of our 11’6” Touring paddle boards to 18 PSI in just over 5 minutes.
This is what sets it apart from the other pumps within the Outdoor Master Range.
Small groups with 2 to 3 paddle boards who want to be on the water in record time taking advantage of the Shark 3 incredible inflation speeds.
No, unfortunately the Shark 3 does not come with a storage case.
Yes, these Shark 3 pumps are the latest upgraded model from Outdoor Master.

No, a mains charger is not included. The pump comes with a USB charging cable and a vehicle power lead. To use its fast-charging capability, you’ll need a suitable USB-C mains charger that supports the pump’s 45W charging requirements.
Yes, the Shark 3 can run from a compatible 12V vehicle socket as well as its internal battery. In our experience, inflation was noticeably slower using our vehicle’s socket than on battery power. Performance will depend on the vehicle’s power supply, so we usually charge the pump beforehand and use its battery when setting up.
No, the USB charging connection cannot power the pump during inflation. Use the internal battery or a compatible 12V vehicle power supply to inflate your board.
No. Automatic shut-off stops inflation when the selected pressure is reached in SUP or KITE mode. When deflating, you need to stop the pump yourself once the remaining air has been removed. MAT mode also requires you to stop the pump manually.

A bit bulky but pumps up multiple sup on one charge
Thanks Graeme for the review. Yes it is a little too big to take out on the water with you but you compromise on the size for speed and battery capacity.
Not had chance to try the pump yet but on first inspection it looks well made and confident it is going to be a brilliant bit of kit.
Thanks for the review, it’s a fantastic pump and will not disappoint. A great choice!
What an excellent product, faster and quieter than a car attached version. Used to inflate a Honwave and two SUPs and still has more battery left. Very quickly recharges. Really really impressed with this product and with the speedy delivery from SUP funk – altogether a brilliant response and product. Highly recommended.
Hi Graham, Thank you for the fantastic feedback and review. It really means a lot to us and helps other customers make informed product decisions. Enjoy your time on the water.
